Matthias Reinhold „Rote Welle“
images more information
» deutsche Version In the new exhibition titled “Rote Welle” / “Red Wave”, Matthias Reinhold links found objects with his drawings from the Ikonolog project, which is based on the structural principle of a weblog. The “Red Wave”, an object that Reinhold found during his walks through Warsaw, where he has been living and working for some time, stands for his associative working method. The red wave refers both to the Polish national flag which is omnipresent in Warsaw and to surfing on the internet. Matthias Reinhold has now also started expanding his website Ikonolog by found objects that are important to him, creating neighbourhoods that refer to each other in formal and content-related terms. He is less concerned with depicting reality than initiating processes of cognition. What is real: the object or the drawing? Reinhold gains access to the world by means of concepts, images and found objects. Images and words stand in a constant relationship of tension. The dialogue between the images of his own drawings and the found objects representing the outside world gives rise to an interplay between the imaginary and the real, between the subjective and objective. There is a laptop next to the “real” drawings and objects available to the visitors to virtually surf on Reinhold’s Ikonolog website. |
